FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need to register for TeenBookCon?

Yes! Registration is FREE!! REGISTRATION for #TeenBookCon24 will open in February.

Will I be able to hear every author speak at TeenBookCon?
Be sure to plan ahead and visit the panels with your favorite authors since you might not be able to see every single author (multiple panel sessions happen at the same time). Check out our SCHEDULE page for details on all panel sessions.

Where will I be able to purchase my favorite authors' books?

Blue Willow Bookshop is the official bookseller for TeenBookCon. There will be a popup bookstore near the cafeteria to purchase select titles from the 2024 TeenBookCon authors. If you would like to pre-order books, you can do so here: https://www.bluewillowbookshop.com/event/teenbookcon-2024If you plan to pick up your books at the festival, please indicate that in the comments section.

We are always happy to help educators place orders ahead of time for the festival. If you are an educator, please visit our EDUCATORS page for more information.

Can I bring my own books for the authors to sign at TeenBookCon?
Yes, for each book you purchase from Blue Willow Bookshop at the event, you may bring one additional book from home to get signed. Curious about which books will be available for purchase? CLICK HERE

I'm not a teen. Can I still attend TeenBookCon sessions?
Yes, TeenBookCon welcomes all fans of YA literature. Please keep in mind that TeenBookCon is first and foremost an event for teens. We ask that in all panel sessions, teens be given first priority in asking questions of our authors and that teens are given priority seating at all sessions. Should a panel session become full, we will ask grown-ups to give up their seats to allow teens to sit.

I'd like to volunteer to work at the festival... is that possible?

Yes! We'd love your help. TeenBookCon needs both adult and teen volunteers to make this festival possible. Please visit the VOLUNTEER page for more information.

I'm a teacher/librarian bringing a group of teens, how does that work?

Head to BUSES & PARKING for more information about bus grants and where to go day-of. Feel free to have your teens bring lunch, or they are welcome to buy pizza & drinks from the concessions area or grab something from one of the food trucks!

Speaking of food, what lunch options are available?

Food trucks and concessions stands will be available on the day of the event. We encourage all attendees to have cash available for food purchases. There is an ATM at Alief Taylor High School near the library.

This year, we will have the following food trucks parked outside the cafeteria: Foreign Policy (International Food), Mesquite Wood Fired Pizza (Pizza), Peppaz HTX (American Fusion), and Uncle Louie G's Italian Ice (Ices). Moooseum, which serves ice cream, will be set up inside the cafeteria. For more information, please visit Mobile Cuisine Services' website for TeenBookCon

I might need some extra energy. Will there be coffee somewhere?

Bean 76 Coffee Co. will be on site to help our readers stay caffeinated! There will be a coffee cart located inside near the cafeteria, and their menu can be located HERE. Coffee lovers, be sure to check out or TBC coffee sticker for purchase at the SWAG shop!
